Wasabi Gangsters!
As always, expect them every Friday morning 930ET along with a video talking about my reading and some other writing updates if that suits you better.
I like to be as transparent as possible in these. I’m excited for you all to be engaged with the world of Mercy—so here. we. go.
Primary Novel Update:
Book Two — Mercy: (Title to be announced) — is on the CHOPPING BLOCK.
More like a revising block… but you get it.
Current Word Count: 181,994
Chapter 25/44 Revised
Some chapters in this bunch have been insanely epic. And have taken a bit longer because of that. Balancing the pacing has been difficult but feels appropriate. I think some test reading prior to edits will help me get things in even more proper order, or at least tell me if it feels fine and I’m overthinking the pacing. The action is definitely much higher in book two all together—so a part of me feels that’s a part of why it feels that way. And I’m praying that’s a good thing.

I will be diving back into book 1 this weekend so as to get the 1st proofread notes checked and through to the second proofreader! Very stoked about this.
That means book 1 will be in the hands of ARC readers by mid-April… which leads me to my next update.
I’m almost done with getting my website constructed—and upon doing that, a form will be sent out on social media platforms for those interested in revering digital ARCs! I’ve already contacted people already who know they’ll be reviving one (don’t feel the need to fill out the form if you’re reading this).
Looking forward to people finally experiencing the world.
So I’m also deciding now on a hardcover print run I’ll likely do come Fall—and I have two art pieces already to be included in that edition. We’ve also finished the paperback ARC cover (final cover will be very similar, but will have quotes from select reviewers on it). Abel has been so helpful it’s insane. I urge you to check out his book Crimson Fire… one that’s next up on my TBR.
Let me know what you guys want to see from future Patreon Tiers. I have some ideas for post book release Tiers and rolling them out over time as demand increases to get people more ingratiated into the universe of Mercy.
I may launch a second tier to have it there—so we can start getting beta/aloha reader slots filled for book two which is following close behind book 1.
Anyways—thanks so much for taking the time to read this. Grateful for everyone who takes the time.
Stay dangerous,
Chance
